We are “home”. Back in the US. That seems more true. We’ve been back about 6 weeks and things are feeling pretty normal. Reverse culture shock seems to have worn off for the most part. We’ve been able to see lots of friends and family, though there are still many more to see. We’ve formulated a plan for our immediate future and we’re working on that, though it’s moving along quite slowly. I long to feel settled again. The theme of my life for the past 5 years seems to have been waiting. Waiting for Kayla, waiting for Ethiopia, waiting for what comes next. I’m very ready to stop waiting and just live. I like to plan, but no solid plans can be made when you’re waiting for job interviews or waiting to house hunt…just always waiting. We know God has a plan, we are resting in that, but that doesn’t mean we don’t wish things would move more quickly!
Since we are back in the US and I have great internet again, I’m going to go back to where I left off on this blog and add pics and memorable moments for each month. This is mostly for my benefit. Feel free to ignore all those posts. I just like to have one spot where I can easily view our “life in a nutshell”.
